Lakadong Turmeric is known for its richness in Curcumin content. Curcumin is the pigment in turmeric and is the one that gives it a rich yellow color and a pungent smell. In fact in Spanish and French turmeric is called Curcuma. Lakadong turmeric is one of the richest varieties amongst the Turmeric because of its Carcumin content which is between 8% – 10%, which is one of the highest, as against a mere 2 to 3% in most other varieties of turmeric. Curcumin is the main biologically active phytochemical compound of turmeric. Extensive research has demonstrated the renowned range of medical properties found in curcumin. Curcumin Is a Natural Anti-Inflammatory Compound. It has been used in India for thousands of years as a spice and medicinal herb.
